In 1993, he also received a Meritorious Service Award from the American Payroll Association.

He also was an editor and senior consultant to Carswell Thomson Professional Publishing for its payroll subscription manual and monthly payroll newsletter. He was the chairman of the association’s Federal Government Relations Committee, leading the CPA towards increased influence with key federal government departments and served as volunteer chairman of the board from 1991 to 1992. During 1993-95, while President of the CPA, Mr. Mise co-chaired a government-sponsored task force to simplify and reform Canada’s Employment Insurance Program. He continues to participate on a number of government committees and has been commissioned to write several studies and papers for the federal government pertaining to taxation fairness, administrative burden and compliance.
